Project Summary
ENPH 253 is a mandatory course offered by the engineering physics department. The course consists of labs during the first 2 months of the summer that covers basic filter design and manufacturing. Then the next month is spent building robots from scratch. On the electrical side. This meant building H-bridges and filtering electronics and sensors. The body also needed to be manufactured or machined from raw materials using tools like 3D printers, water-jet cutters and lathes.
In 2016 the competition involved building robots to travel around a track to pickup dolls on IR beacons. The dolls were then dropped off at a deposit point. Scores we’re computed based on how many dolls were picked up and how many were dropped off.
